At Bare Bottom, we don’t just do spray tans and UV tanning. We also have professionals who are licensed to provide Botox services. This includes Juvederm, one of the most popular fillers on the market!
What is Juvéderm?
Unlike older fillers that use collagen, Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid filler. What’s great about this is that hyaluronic acid is a biological acid found in the body. This means that since it’s natural, there’s little to no risk of experiencing an allergic reaction. Juvéderm is known for giving long-lasting results and is exceptionally durable, one of the reasons it’s so popular at the moment!
We do more than just spray tans. Let us walk you through a few things to expect after you get fillers at Bare Bottom Tanning.
1. Swelling
After your appointment, you can expect to endure some mild bruising and swelling. This will typically last around 24-48 hours. Hyaluronic acid also attracts water, meaning the treated area may be extra plump for a while. It’s best to wait at least two weeks before you determine your satisfaction with the results of your fillers. After this time period, the injected area will soften a bit more.
2. Be Aware of Medications
It’s common to take something after a treatment to aid in any potential pain or swelling. But it’s vital to be wary of what you’re taking! Certain medications and supplements can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in any treated areas. This includes things like Ibuprofen, aspirin, garlic, ginger, vitamin E, ginseng, fish oil, and ginkgo.
3. Avoid Extreme Temperatures
It’s best to stay away from excessive cold or hot temperatures for at least two weeks after your injections. This means avoiding saunas, tanning, and even hot showers or being too close to a hot stove or oven! While using a cold pack on the injection site is acceptable, do not put any pressure on the area.
It’s vital to wear sunscreen when it comes to any exposure to the sun. Direct sunlight without sunscreen or the proper protection can create lasting discoloration in the treated areas. If it’s your first time getting fillers, make sure to discuss the best aftercare options for you with our professionals!
4. Avoid Strenuous Activity
Steer clear from intense workouts after your appointment for at least 24 hours. Physical activity increases body temperature and blood flow, leading to even more swelling and bruising. Excessive sweat can also potentially increase any risk of infection.
This also includes any facial massages. Massaging the treated area can dislocate the filler, resulting in a bumpy or uneven appearance. It’s also important to avoid alcohol for up to 24 hours after your injections.
